Everest Base Camp 2010 • 11/7/2010 6:58:00 PM Randy Bernard - Follow up on Phakding to Namche Bazaar trek
Hi everyone, this is Randy Bernard calling back for a follow up from yesterday's message. Sorry it got a little scrambled just as I had yaks and some sherpas crossing me and lost my train of thought. I just want to continue on with what we saw, what we experienced yesterday from our trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar. We arrived at 11300 feet yesterday, and again just want give you a little more details on what we experience on our way. We cross probably about 6 suspension bridges on a downward trek. We actually lost about a thousand feet from when we started at 8700. So these suspension bridges were beautiful across valleys gorges with a big beautiful river right below us, lots of peaks to look at. Pretty much after that we just crossed a lot of small villages and I think the highlight of the day was pretty much all these Halloween candies that everybody had brought from, you know, recently having Halloween with us and giving them to the local children which they were very excited to receive a lot of different suckers, chocolate bars from us and another highlight was Jason actually bring a bag of balloons and I don't know …(transmission failed).
