Everest Base Camp 2010 • 11/12/2010 8:00:19 AM Warren Zerbe - From Lobuche
Hello this is Warren Zerbe with the Summits of Hope Everest Base Camp Team. Today we left Tyangboche and headed to Lobuche. On the trek today we stopped at a very revered site with rock memorials surrounding the area of famous climbers and Sherpas who have lost their lives trying to summit Mount Everest. We took a quiet moment here in this very special place before arriving at Lobuche at 16,200 ft. All of the Summits of Hope team members are in fairly good shape considering the altitude we are in and we are resting up for a big day tomorrow. We have pushed up the order of Kalapathar and Base Camp so that we only have to spend one night at high altitude. Thus, our spirits are high and we are pumped as we are getting up early tomorrow morning, that’s 5:00 AM, to head to our major destination Mount Everest Base Camp. Tomorrow will be dedicated to all of the kids at BC Children’s Hospital battling cancer and we want to thank all of those and all of you who have made donations for this cause. And just before I go I want to reach out and say hello to my Mom and Dad Janet and Walter Zerbe as well as my niece Rowan the volleyball star of the family. Also thank you to Outbound Communications. This is Warren Zerbe signing off for Summits of Hope.
