Everest Base Camp 2011 • 10/28/2011 8:05:42 AM Tyangboche 12,800 feet (Jaime Ferguson)
Hi this is Jaime calling from Tyangboche. This is day six for us and we just hiked from Namche. It's been great, nice and sunny, everything has been good. We hiked up a nice rolling hill that went up a little bit then we ended up dropping 1000 feet to the river bed and crossed another bridge across the 'Milky River". Then we hiked a pretty steep hike up actually about 1800 feet to get to Tyangboche. Once we got here we went to the Monastery and watched and participated in a prayer session. So tomorrow we are on our way to Dingboche which brings us up to about 14,300 feet. It should take us about five hours or so. We had a little bit of hail and snow today. The temperature is definitely dropping so a big thanks to Ice Breaker and The North Face for keeping us super warm. I would also like to say hello to my family and my friends and my coworkers, thanks so much for all of your support and encouragement. Also the team would like to give a big hello to all of the children at BC Children's Hospital. If you haven't made a donation if you can that would be great. Stay tuned for the next update from the team. Bye!
