Everest Base Camp 2011 - Happening NOW! • 11/8/2011 7:16:02 AM Safe in Kathmandu (Julian Alphilbert)
Hello everyone in Vancouver. This is Julian Alphilbert, part of the 2011 base camp Mount Everest team. I'm speaking to you on behalf of a very elated team because as of now we are in Kathmandu after having spent a few days, unexpected days rather, in Lukla due to weather conditions. We finally were able to get in to Kathmandu today. The team is very excited because that means we will be homeward bound tomorrow evening. So I just wanted to let everyone know that we're fine, we're healthy and we've finally had our taste buds titillated or reactivated if you might want to call it that because we've just had a wonderful dinner and for the first time in weeks, we were able to have meat. Everyone's happy, everyone's excited and we certainly would like to, you know, send warm greetings to everyone at BC Children's Hospital as well as the staff members there, to our families, friends, loved ones and all our supporters. And we certainly would like to mention that if you have not yet been on to summitsofhope.com and made a contribution, please do so because it's a very worthy cause. And now that we have all finished with this adventure, we've all come out with some very personal stories and we've all realized that it's made us much better people. My voice has gone and it's not because of celebrating, but it has just been cold the last few weeks. So I'm very excited to be speaking to you and also very excited to be on our way home. So thank you very much for your support and have a fantastic evening. Bye bye.
