I am a physiotherapist, currently working for the BC Children’s hospital. I am also doing some work for the Vancouver Regional Pediatric Team in the Vancouver school system. My passion has always been to volunteer and work with special needs kids. I started working them when I was 14…and never stopped. I have always wanted to go to Africa and once I heard of the Summits of Hope, Mt Kilimanjaro climb, it was obvious this was the time to go. In addition to our climb this year, Lindsay Taylor and I are also staying in Tanzania to volunteer our physio skills in an orphanage for kids with cerebral palsy.

I currently live in (and love) Vancouver but I have developed a love for many different areas of Canada. I was born and raised in Mississauga Ontario. I spent 4 years on the East coast doing my undergrad at Acadia University. I went back to Ontario for my Masters in Science in Physical Therapy from UofT. Once I finished school, I spent 2 years in Calgary, Alberta before I ventured for warmer weather. I recently spent a year and a half in Hawaii before I came back to Canada to settle in Vancouver.

When I am not working and now fundraising, I thrive on being outside. Whenever I can I will be traveling…whether it be short road trips or jumping continents. In Hawaii I picked up kite boarding and surfing (although I haven’t braved the BC waters yet…I plan to soon). On land I love hockey, boarding, hiking, snowshoeing …and pretty much anything that gets me into the sun and mountains!

I strongly believe in doing what you dream and making the most out of life. I am lucky enough to have a wonderful supportive family and friends, which helps when I am consistently searching for a new adventure.
