When I first started to consider whether I wanted to make this trek, I asked what my friends thought of the idea on Facebook. One of my friends responded: "As the mother of a child who frequents Children's Hospital, I would be so grateful if you would make this trek on behalf of my son and all of the other kids who could not have the opportunities they have or quality of life without everyday heroes who make it possible. Please do!"

That sealed the deal for me!!

As the father of four healthy children, I am so blessed. I've never had to endure the pain of watching any of my children suffer from a serious illness. But if I ever found myself in that situation, I would want to know that the very best medical professionals were available to me and my family. That's what BC Children's Hospital represents to me. None of us should ever take it for granted that the resources of BC Children's are there for us if ever we should need them.

My past climbs: Golden Ears, The Lions, Black Tusk, Mt. Cheam, Squamish Chief - Kilimanjaro is my first serious climb!!

My fundraising goal: $25,000.00

I am raising money for: My nephew's life was saved by the amazing staff at BC Children's Hospital. He had spinal meningitis when he was very little. We were told he shouldn't have survived but he did!!

I am climbing for: All the childen who benefit from the selfless, loving care from the doctors and nurses at BC Children's Hospital.
