Kilimanjaro 2006 will be the first expedition for Catherine. Currently completing her final year at the University of Waterloo she has always been very involved in the community. She has raised funds for Toronto's Sick Kids, BC Children's Hospital and helped found a group supporting Jamaican orphans.

BC Children's Hospital has a very special place in Catherine's heart. Not only because she and 2 other of her family members work at the BC Children's Hospital Foundation but also because she has had friends and their children treated there. Working for the BC Children's Hospital Miracle Weekend has had an enormous impact on Catherine. Seeing the difference this hospital makes in people's lives truly inspires her to continue her efforts to help children in her community.

Catherine has also always had a passion for exploring the world. Her travels have taken her to England, Spain, Australia, and Mexico thus far. Kilimanjaro will launch another year of travelling that will take her across Europe and Asia.
