Dale is a 32-year-old fire fighter with the city of New Westminster. Having grown up in the lower mainland and spending most summers on his parents' boat, Dale gained an appreciation for the outdoors early in life. Along the way he has become a journeyman carpenter, a scuba instructor, and an avid outdoorsman who enjoys skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and fishing.

Having recently become a father, Dale recognizes the great importance of organizations like Children"s Hospital, and he is proud to be part of a group that is dedicated to raising funds to help with equipment, research, and development. Dale has had friends and family members fight with, succumb to, and survive tragic diseases such as cancer. He believes that climbing with Summits of Hope is a good way to give back to those who have taught him the true meaning of strength and courage. He climbs to honour their memories and spirit.
